The Nike SB Dunk Low Slam City is a collaboration between the London skate shop and Nike.
The shoes have quickly risen to grail status among collectors and have a lot of neat features. There’s the Jesus-looking character on the tongue (let me know in the comments if you know what the deal is with that), the map to London skate spots on the insole and the swoosh that changes color as it is worn and gets scuffed. I definitely had to have a pair of these and I’m really glad I got a pair in the collection!
These are tough to match up, but I went with a black top and dark blue jeans. Make sure to layer over a white tee or throw some light hits in with this fit to avoid looking like a dark blob. I suppose a white top might do the trick as well.
How Are The Materials?
These have an interesting mix of materials. The quality is of course very good per most pink box releases. We have a rubbery guard around the toebox which is there for those that actually skate. The rest of the shoe is suede except for the leather swoosh that changes color as mentioned earlier. Later pairs of shoes would use the scuff/color change feature as well. Overall, the materials on these are nice and thick and the suede/nubuck is very buttery!
How Do They Fit?
The Nike SB Dunk Low Slam City fits true to size and is very comfortable. These actually for some reason remind me of how Jedis fit. It might be the stiffer material surrounding a softer toebox or just the overall shape of the shoe (which to me is beefy for a pink box SB). Either way, these are super easy to wear and SB heads won’t be disappointed if they decide to put up the money for a pair.
